Your Mission: This is how you drive impact
As the Lead for our TechSpace & Innovation Hub (full-time, start January 2026, Nuremberg/Erlangen), you will take full ownership of building our brand-new TechSpace in Erlangen from the ground up. This is a highly entrepreneurial role that requires a deep blend of technical expertise, project management, and business acumen. Here is an overview of your tasks:
  • Strategic Build-Up: You hold the overall responsibility for the strategic conception, planning, and initial construction management of the new TechSpace, coordinating all technical and architectural partners.
  • Infrastructure & Technical setup: You plan, procure, and install the necessary software, hardware and prototyping infrastructure (e.g., Robotics, 3D printing, advanced sensor technology, software prototyping) and ensure its smooth, ongoing operation.
  • Community & Program Development: You build up a TechSpace Community and conceptualize user-centric offerings (workshops, Prototyping Sprints, events) for our diverse target groups (Startups, Corporates, Talents).
  • Business Model & Governance: You develop and implement a sustainable business model (partner offerings, startup offerings, etc.) for the space, securing its long-term viability. This includes future budget and personnel responsibility.
  • Tech Expertise & Sparring: You provide hands-on technical know-how in our core fields (AI, Robotics, Manufacturing) and act as the primary sparring partner for Startups and Corporate innovation teams.
Your Toolbox: What you bring to the table
  • General: We are looking for an Entrepreneur in Tech with a background in Engineering, IT, or similar (a specific university degree is not decisive here). Fluency in English and very good German skills are required to navigate both the technical and the local building/stakeholder environment.
  • Experiences: You have several years of relevant experience in a technical leadership position (e.g., former CTO of a startup). You have a proven track record in leading complex projects and ideally experience with innovation/maker spaces.
  • Skills: You possess deep technical understanding in the ZOLLHOF focus areas (AI, Robotics, etc.) and strong project management and coordination skills. Crucially, you can translate a technological vision into a tangible product and a functional business model.
  • Personality: You bring strong entrepreneurial drive, a visionary mindset, and the will and motivation to build a complex project from scratch. You demonstrate excellent communication skills to mediate effectively between architects, technicians, Startups, and Corporate C-Levels.
